I love accessories and one of my favorite personal items to wear is watches. I am somewhat a junkie because when I see a cool one, I just have to have it. I probably have at least 10 watches and I still love to look at them and get new ones whenever i can. One of the hottest styles right now is the silicone rubber watch and trust me, I have been eying them but so far have resisted getting one due to my collection issues… well, that was until today! I am so excited to be able to review a cool watch from RUBR Watch Nation.
The RUBR Watch is a brainy idea by business owner Beth Smolen. A large timepiece lover she found that most rubber watches were over priced and she wanted to fill the void with affordable, fun, funky, unisex styles and she has managed to do that.
I received one of their brand new watches called the Paris in White. It is an Oversized unisex watch with a Resin casing and an awesome textured silicone rubber band. The face is white and oversize with Roman numerals and a silvertone hardware case. I love that the strap is long enough for my thick wrist and its big face means no squinting for me! This is really lightweight and super comfy to wear! It offers a Japanese quartz movement and it is even water resistant. Nice!
One of my first questions was going to be is it hot to wear? Well, today it was 101 outside and I sat at the pool deck watching my son play waterpolo and I wore this watch. It was surprisingly not overly hot. I did notice a little sweating on my arm, but not bad considering. It was slightly sticky, but with the rubber conforming to my wrist, it was not uncomfortable at all. There is a big thumbs up!
With the over size face and tall resin case protecting the face, I was thinking I would be bumping it or it would be top heavy, but the balance of the watch is good. I had it strapped firmly on and it did very little moving. That is another thumbs up!
Overall, this is a great watch for casual wear and I love the way it looks! It will be easy to care for and it should last me a long time! I just love it and know that it will be getting a nice big work out from me! YAY!
