Refrigerator Art made by our Grandkids and Kids
As you all know, I am a proud grandmother to a precious almost 3 1/2 year old little girl. Our little Princess Gia loves to be creative and is a big sucker for Arts & Crafts.
Everytime she comes to my home we sit down and craft something up. Everytime she attends preschool, her favorite class is Art Class. The really nice thing about all of this is…she takes after me, her Nanny!
I have been a big time crafter since I was about 15 years old and I am now 45. I can do embroidery, cross stitch, crochet, scrapbook, make greeting cards, do weaving, beading and even do some decorative painting. I absolutely love to craft and would rather craft than do anything else.
Over the past few weeks, my refrigerator has been filling up with pieces of Princess Gia’s handmade artwork. A few days ago she walks in my front door and proudly hands me her newest creation that she made at preschool earlier that day.
She told me that it’s a green cloud (green for the color of Nanny’s eyes) and those “yarn” streamers are the rainbow that comes after the rain clouds. Her preschool teacher told her mother that Princess Gia stayed in from recess just so she could make her Nanny a green cloud with rainbow!
I have been saving all of Princess Gia’s handmade artwork in a special keepsake box. I just love looking at them and touching them…as they are special things I want to share with her as she gets older.
I would love to know how many of you keep the special things that your children & grandchildren make for you? I would also like to know how you organize and store them all?
My box is filling up fast, so I will definitely need to get some type of artwork storage system going soon!
