Homemade Cocktail Sauce Recipe for Seafood

Homemade Cocktail Sauce Recipe for Seafood

We are big seafood eaters here in our home and at least once a week, we prepare some type of seafood for one of our family dinners. We love all kinds of seafood like lobster, crab, shrimp, scallops and even a good homemade clam chowder.

When we make seafood, I like to serve it with a good homemade cocktail sauce. Many people purchase cocktail in a bottle, but trust me, homemade tastes better! Here is the recipe I like to use.

Homemade Cocktail Sauce Recipe

1/4 cup catsup
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 teaspoons horseradish
3 to 4 drops Worcestershire Sauce
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

In a small mixing bowl, combine together all of the above ingredients with a wire whisk until blended and smooth. If you like your cocktail sauce with a little more “heat” add additional Worcestershire Sauce to the recipe. Serve immediately. If you have any leftovers, refrigerate.

This is a simple recipe, but it should be delicious. I think I’d add some of the lemon zest also.

I will have to try this recipe! We live only about 2hrs away from the Pacific Ocean and are always eating crab and shrimp. It’s our favorite, but I have not found a cocktail sauce I like. I agree homemade is always better. Copying this down to add to my recipe book…thanks!
