Healthy Kids Meals by Kidfresh
A few weeks ago I was contacted by the great folks over at Kidfresh and asked if we would like to review one of their Kidfresh meals. Up until that point, I had never heard of this company or their kid’s meal products. Since they were new to me, I jumped at the chance!
Here is some information about the Kidfresh Healthy Kids Meals provided to me by the company:
Kidfresh is created by parents for parents. With the help of top pediatric nutritionists and NYC-based chefs, Kidfresh has become a pioneer in all-natural, wholesome, yummy kids meals, available in the freezer sections of leading grocery stores and supermarkets in the United States. Kidfresh offers time-tested kid favorite entrees with 100% natural ingredients, blended vegetables and key nutrients for growing children – ready in 4 minutes. Each meal comes high in protein and vitamins, contains low sodium, and all for under 400 calories and with an SRP of $2.99-$3.29 (depending on your store).
I received a full-value coupon so I could head to my local grocery store and pick up a Kidfresh meal. Since Princess Gia is a big Macacroni & Cheese fan, we selected the Wagon Wheels Mac + Cheese dinner. You can find these dinners in the frozen aisle at your local store.
This is an all-natural kid’s dinner that is a good source of protein. Hidden inside the dinner and very much so disguised is a whole serving of carrots that are blended into the cheese sauce. Princess Gia doesn’t like carrots and trust me, she never knew they were in her dinner!
Besides the carrots, the cheese sauce is made up of stringy cheddar and mozzarella cheese and Princess Gia is a huge fan of anything made with cheese! Seriously, she walks out to my refrigerator all of the time and grabs cheese slices as her afternoon snack. She is a huge cheese lover!
I prepared the Kidfresh dinner by following the directions on the package and chose to microwave it. The microwaving process took about 2 1/2 minutes to complete and then I left it cool for about 5 minutes before serving it to Princess Gia. Alongside her Mac & Cheese she had some sliced chicken strips.
As you can see from the photo above, she absolutely LOVED this Kidfresh meal! As a grandparent, I loved how easy it was to prepare and I loved how the carrots are hidden in the cheese sauce! We all know that our children and grandchildren need to eat more veggies and this is one great way to sneak them into their diets! Kuddos to Kidfresh!
You can visit the Kidfresh web site to see the other yummy varieties of Kidfresh meals that they have to offer and to learn more about this terrific company and their products.
