Hubby and I did a big walk-through the house we are remodeling last night and realized that we need to find the perfect replacement light bulbs. The house has all of your standard light bulbs in it, which are expensive to use and they are not very bright.
We have been looking into getting some compact fluorescent light bulbs and putting them into all of our lighting fixtures. We read online that these types of light bulbs are energy efficient and can help save on our electric bill. The house we are moving into is really large, so if we can save some money on our monthly utilities, that is a good thing!
We also read that they last longer than a traditional light bulb and you can get them so that they are flicker-free! Flickering light bulbs have always annoyed me and having flicker-free light bulbs would be a huge plus!
What really surprised me is that you can get compact fluorescent light bulbs to fit into any type of lighting fixture you may have, indoors or outdoors! We have 3 large floodlights outside and I think these types of light bulbs would be perfect for it.
I have a question today for our blog readers. Have any of you switched over to the new compact fluorescent light bulbs yet and if so, have you seen any difference in your utility bills? Do you find the light you are getting from these types of bulbs to be bright enough?
