Cake Mix Banana Muffins Recipe

Last week I had to whip up a batch of homemade banana muffins but didn’t have the time to make them fully from scratch. Instead, I decided to use a cheater recipe to make them. Once done, you couldn’t tell that they were made from a cheater recipe and were actually quite good! Matter of fact…delicious and moist!

Homemade Banana Muffins Cheater Recipe

1 box Duncan Hines Yellow Cake Mix
Vegetable Oil, Water & Eggs (as called for on the box of cake mix)
3 ripe Bananas
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Follow the directions on the Duncan Hines cake mix and prepare your cake batter. Mash up 3 ripe bananas and mix them into the cake batter. Sprinkle in 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.

Pour the batter into a muffin tin or a cupcake/muffin liners and bake in the oven at 350 degrees F for about 12 minutes. Remove and let cool. I filled my muffin cups 80% full with the batter.

Smother the banana muffins with butter or honey butter and enjoy! Totally delicious!!!

Looking for a new muffin baking pan? I highly recommend the Farberware Nonstick Bakeware 12-Cup Muffin Pan, Gray that you can purchase from Amazon for a great price!

I love to be able to take shortcuts in baking and have them work out well. I would probably add walnuts to the recipe.

How cute and perfect! I love it when “cheaters” easy recipes turn out and are delicious. Sometimes those actually become favorites. My daughter makes Cheater Turtles with a pretzel, rolo, and nut. We love them! She has to make them several times a year. Thanks for sharing your cheater recipe.
