Today I would like to introduce you to the company called Educational Insights based out of Southern California. My Review: The great folks over at Educational Insights sent us the Watch It! Elapsed Time Clock to review for all of you. This product is made for ages 7 and older, and for children in grades 2 and up. The Elapsed Time Clock is a clear and simple way to teach and quiz elapsed time and practice reading and analog clocks.
Features: (2) giant analog wristwatches, (2) correlating digital clocks, elapsed time answer window with push-button quiz door, teach guide with multilingual instructions. This is a non-electric product and it doesn’t require any batteries!
How To Use It: Move the minute hand on the first watch to your desired start time and the minute hand on the second watch to your finish time. The digital clocks underneath the wristwatches will automatically adjust! Then push the button the stopwatch to reveal the elapsed time or keep it closed to quiz students (or your children).
Little G is too young just yet for the Elapsed Time Clock but my 6 year old god son is at the perfect age for it. I had Nick come over to our house and Renee & I sat down with him. We got out the Watch It! Elapsed Time Clock and explained to him how it works. We then took turns asking Nick different questions and setting the hands on the clock.
Example Question: If Joey goes to a movie that starts at 2:00pm and lasts for 2 1/2 hours, what time will it be when the move is over?
You then let your child/student ponder the questions and come up with an answer. Once they “think” they know the answer, they simply push the button on the stopwatch to reveal the elapsed time correct answer! Super cool!
We played this with Nick for over an hour and let me tell you, he was getting the hang of it after just a few questions. He has had problems with understanding elapsed time and now…well, he is starting to understand it thanks to the Watch It! Elapsed Time Clock! What a fabulous product! I can see this product being used at home and at school by teachers! Learning elapsed time has never been easier and that is all in-thanks to this fabulous teaching tool! We love it!
