I love to bake and if I had the time…I would create and bake something every day! Seriously, I am pretty passionate about baking and I prefer to bake from scratch. My Thoughts: Wow, where do I begin on this one! This is one beautiful and comprehensive cookbook that solely focuses on baking up some delicious treats! The book has a beautiful introduction and then a chapter with tips on baking Kathleen’s recipes. Then the following chapters: (1) Muffins, Scones & Shortcakes, (2) Tea Loaves & Quick Breads, (3) Pies, Tarts & Crisps, (4) Cookies, (5) Party Cakes & Cupcakes, (6) Health & Lifestyle Baked Goods, (7) Icings, Frosting’s & Sauces.
We are getting ready to move into our new house within the next 3 weeks so most of my baking supplies and kitchen items have already been packed up. Now that I have this cookbook in my hands, I can’t wait to get moves & unpacked so I can try out some of the mouth-watering recipes like: Coconut Custard Pie, Pumpkin Pie Scones, Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies, Cranberry Sauce Crumb Bars and many more!
The foodie photography in this cookbook are absolutely beautiful, mouth drooling! Seriously, these foodie photos are just gorgeous! I love how each recipe is laid out nicely with a list of ingredients with measurements and the directions for making the recipe. The directions are very easy-to-understand and I didn’t see any off-the-wall ingredients. Everything called for in these recipes is readily available out in the marketplace.
Here is a fabulous tip from the book: To keep frosting off the serving platter, slip 3 or 4 strips of waxed paper under the bottom cake layer. After frosting, slide out the strips. You will only have to do a very light touch-up, if any.
I love this cookbook and I think you would love it too! It is perfect for the beginner baker and the more experienced professional. Wonderful gift to yourself or give it as a gift…this cookbook is a real winner!
