Purchasing a New Home in Kansas City
Six weeks ago I told you all about my cousin who recently got a job in Kansas City and was working on relocating her family from central Pennsylvania to Kansas.
Well, Karen called me yesterday and was telling me about all of the beautiful Kansas City homes she has been touring. In the past few weeks she has toured 19 different homes and finally has it narrowed down to the final 3 choices.
Her husband Ken is going to fly out to Kansas tomorrow and join her, so they can look at the final 3 houses together. They must decided which of these 3 homes they want to buy before Monday and they are pretty excited about it.
She was telling me that the one she really likes is has 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, a large living room, family room, dining room,an eat-in kitchen, a den and has a very nice play room for the kids.
Along with having nice sized fully-remodeled rooms, this house that she has fallen in love with has an in-ground pool in the backyard along with a wooden tree house that she thinks the kids will love.
She was hoping for a 2-car garage with her dream home, but this particular home only has one garage. Ken told her to not worry about that because he can get another garage or two added onto the home next year.
One of her favorite things about this particular home is the master bathroom that sits right off of the master bedroom. She said this bathroom is pretty large and has a lot of windows which lets in the natural sunlight. Furthermore, it has beautifully tiled floors and a large 2-person sunken garden tub! Oh my gosh, that is the type of bathroom I would like some day!
Karen told me that the economy is really good out there and that she can get a super nice house for much less than what she would get around here. In addition, the house she wants to buy is in a very nice school district and that is an added bonus for her and her family.
I think it sounds like she has made up her mind on this one particular house but to be fair to Ken, she will show him all 3 and let him help her to make the final decision.
Regardless, Sam and I will be planning a week long trip come March to go out and see them and I bet the house they get…will be beautiful!
This is a blog conversation that is brought to you by Remax, however, all the points and views are my own.
