I often don’t talk about my chronic health problems here on our blog, but I have previously told you all that I suffer from a rare genetic disease called Porphyria. I have had chronic pain every day, for over 25 years now. When I say I know pain, trust me, I know pain!
I am always looking for new things to try out to help relieve some of my symptoms and today, I would like to introduce you all to Corn-Bags. This company makes all-natural, reusable heat bags that are filled with corn.
To use these heatable corn bags, you simply pop them into your microwave oven and heat them for 2 to 4 minutes. The bags come along with an instruction card but they are super easy-to-use. You only want to reheat the bag once it has completely cooled and you never want to over-heat them which can cause damage to the bag.
For the review, I received one of their all-natural heat bags in the 6.5″ by 14.5″ size which is perfect for a female’s body size. These reheatable corn bags come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes and fabric print choices. I received the “bright star” print which is blue colored with white and yellow stars on it.
The corn bag has a cotton cover with a stitched in divider running down it’s center to help keep the corn evenly distributed in the bag. I love that it’s semi-weighty so that when I place it on my shoulders, neck and upper back area, it stays in place. I have been heating mine up in the microwave for the recommended 3 minutes of time. I then let it cool for a minute or two before I place it onto my shoulders and neck area. The heat lasts a nice long time!
A few days ago my hubby got in on the action and reheated the corn bag up and used it across his knee. He often gets really bad knee pain and using a large & clunky heating pad on the knee area doesn’t work. This corn bag does a great job on his knee because it conforms around his knee and he loves it too!
I think these microwave heating pads are absolutely fabulous! We travel a lot and often times, it’s a pain to take a heating pad with us. Now I can pack my corn bag into my luggage and tote bag, and have a better option. Not only that, We love using it here at home too! The corn bag that I reviewed only costs $11.99 so they are super affordable and make a great gift!
