Your Favorite Summer Salads

August 23, 2012 by Shelly

Summer Salad ChoicesWe eat a lot of salads here in our home during the summer season and part of that is because of our backyard garden. Every season we are blessed when we have a great harvest and this year is no exception. Lots of great fresh veggies coming out of the garden this year!

Usually I just toss together whatever we have on hand as I don’t like to waste anything that we harvest. What I don’t use, I preserve for the winter or donate it to someone in need.

When it comes to putting together the perfect salad for your family, what do you like to toss together?

Last night I tossed together some Iceberg Lettuce, Romain Lettuce, Cucumbers, Peas, Tomatoes, Green Peppers, Fresh Mushroms, Hardboiled Eggs, Onions and some Mozzarella Cheese. Our salads were delicious because I topped them with some homemade honey mustard dressing.

I get all my salad ideas from pinterest. My favorites for group gatherings are salads without lettuce…like avocado and garbanzo beans. It always looks fancy 🙂
