When you think of Thompon’s Waterseal you think of products that have to do mainly with cleaning, staining or waterproofing your deck and/or patio. Well, Thompson’s Waterseal also makes products for cleaning and waterproofing outdoor products too!
The company sent me a few spray cans of the Thompson’s WaterSeal Sport Seal to try out for all of you. This spray offers maximum strength waterproofing and long-lasting protection on the fabrics that you spray it on. Your fabrics won’t become stiff and crunchy, and the fabrics will still be able to breathe after the application.
You can use this product on your outerwear, footwear, tents, backpacks, patio cushions, swing cushions, outdoor flags, garden flags, picnic tablecloths, etc. Basically, anything that is made of fabric that will be used outdoors, this spray can turn it into waterproof fabric!
Before you begin, you will want to read all of the instructions on the can and perform the “splash test” and “colorfast” test before you start. After I was done with those tests, I laid all of the items I wanted to spray it on out on our back patio. I did this on a hot & sunny day so that they would dry quickly. After 2 hours, I collected our items and waited for some rainfall! About 5 days later, the storm came through and I went to check all of the items I had sprayed. They all held up well and there were NO watermarks from water getting through. Yeah!!!

I had a lot of fun applying this product to our new patio chair cushions, hubby’s gardening shoes, work boots, my garden flag, my porch swing cushions, etc. Each can holds 11.5 oz. of spray and it goes a long way. I sprayed about 11 items and only went through 2 cans! I still have 2 cans left and will be treating some of our new patio cushions that we picked up last week and I want to use it on a few more pairs of our winter shoes. We give this product a huge 2-thumbs up!
