I have had the great pleasure of reviewing some awesome products by the great folks over at Thompson’s WaterSeal in the past month and today, I have another great product to share with all of you.
Thompson’s WaterSeal sent me a few cans of their Fabric Seal to try out for all of you. I was really excited to receive this product because I purchased some new outdoor chair cushions, a swing cushion and some toss pillows that needed to be protected. The Fabric Seal can be used on cushions, pillows, umbrellas, awnings, etc. It comes in a 11.5 oz. easy-to-use spray can.
Before you use this spray on your item(s) they recommend that you perform a “splash test” and a “colorfast test” which only take a few minutes to do. Once completed and you know your test results, you can move on to treating your outdoor fabric items.
I started off by laying my 2 new chair pads onto our porch and spraying the top side with the spray. You want to liberally apply the spray, but don’t saturate the pads/cushions. You then allow them to dry (it was hot outside so that only took an hour). You then spray on a second coat and let it dry again.
You will repeat the process on the other side until you have all sides of the item you are treating, treated. They recommend letting items dry 4 hours between treatments but if you do this on a very hot day and out in the sun, it will be quicker. It took me less than 3 hours to do all 4 of our chair pads.
About 5 hours later we got a good rain storm that blew through and let me tell you, the water just beaded up on our chair pads. It didn’t soak in at all! I was really impressed with that since I had just treated them earlier that day in the morning. According to the directions, you should retreat your items annually or after a good thorough cleaning.
We are really loving this stuff and I am going to use it for additional things that we like to keep outdoors when we are entertaining. Next up will be our patio umbrellas! yeah!
You can head on over to Thompson’s WaterSeal and check out all of their fabulous products! In the coming weeks, I will have several additional reviews to share with all of you! Thanks Thompson’s WaterSeal, your products rock!
