Tetley, the British tea enjoyed by more English households, looked at the important role tea plays in the cultures of the top winning countries to see if it might be the secret weapon.
United States: The US had a solid showing in swimming and the women’s gymnastics team was able to keep their cool to reclaim the top title. As it happens, in the US, 85% of tea is consumed over ice – which is quite different from the rest of the world. So tea- hot and iced is still a popular beverage throughout the country.
China: With top honors in sports like swimming and diving, China was a dominant force this Summer. Tea happens to be one of the most important parts of any meal or social gathering in China and is had with almost every meal.
Russia: Russia not only came with top honors on the mat with gymnastics but also dominated on the Track & Field events. Russia was part of the most dramatic battle against the American gymnast for first place. These athletes showed tremendous performance and are now running for third place with the most winning medals. Tea is a traditional beverage in Russia and it is consumed by more than 90% of Russian citizens and is a very important part of hospitality and hosting guests.
My Review: The company sent me a box of their Tetley Iced Tea Blend Tea Bags for the review. This box contains 24 premium black tea bags with distinct color, clarity and taste. We are big iced tea drinkers here in my house so we were excited about this review.
I followed the directions on the package and boiled 8 cups of water. I then poured the water into my beverage pitcher over the top of the 2 Iced Tea Bags. I left it steep for 5 minutes (we like strong flavored tea) and then removed the bags. I stirred in 1 1/2 cups of granulated sugar and squeezed in about 2 teaspoons of fresh lemon juice. I then added ice cubes and put the pitcher into my refrigerator to chill. A few hours later I poured each member in our household a big glass of iced tea to enjoy with our family dinner.
The first thing I want to say is this…I had NO loose tea floating around in my pitcher or our drinking glasses. I really dislike it when loose tea leaves seep out and we had none of that! Our iced tea had a wonderful smooth tea taste with nothing bitter about it! I loved that I only needed to use 2 tea bags to make a 2 quart pitcher of iced tea! My family loved it and I will be purchasing more of the Tetley Iced Tea Blend! Yeah!!!
