Large Square Colander by Joseph Joseph
As part of our big “End of Summer Entertaining Event” here on our blog…we get to bring you a fabulous company called Joseph Joseph who sells some really cool and unique kitchen products.
When you shop at Joseph Joseph you will find colanders, strainers, various chopping boards, a wide variety of kitchen tools, food prep products, tableware, serving products, gift sets and so much more! As someone who loves to cook and entertain, I could spend hours over there in the Joseph Joseph online store!
The company sent me their Large Square Colander in Red to review for all of you. I do a lot of cooking for my family and having a good sturdy colander is important to me. The colander they sent me is in a gorgeous dark red color (photos show pink due to my icky lighting in my kitchen).
The colander has an easy-grip handle which I love! I can now hold my colander under running water to rinse my fruits/veggies/pastas with no problems at all. I love having a free hand! In addition, the handle helps to add some weight and it helps to stabilize the colander so that it doesn’t tip over when you sit it down.
The colander is square shaped and I love that shape as it makes pouring my foods out of it super easy. (a lot easier than a round or oval shaped colander). The colander features vertical draining holes so the water drains away super quickly. Underneath the colander is 3 built-in feet which keeps the colander sitting up and off your counter-top or bottom of your sink.
At my new house I have a double sink and I can slip the handle over the divider between the two sinks and it keeps it off the bottom of my sink and allows the water to drain away. What a nice feature for sure! In addition, the handle has a hole in it’s end so that you can hang up your colander to save on cabinet space. I am keeping mine hung up on my hanging pot rack in my pantry closet.
I have used this colander for pasta, fresh veggies and for rinsing off fruits and let me tell you…it is the BEST colander I have ever owned! I seriously love this thing and think you all would love it too! Please remember, the colander is NOT pink!!! I have daylight lighting in my kitchen so dark red items tend to photograph as pink! ugh!
