Cottonage sent me their wonderful California Republic Design Hooded Sweatshirt to review for all of you. The sweatshirt is NOT a light-weight sweatshirt and would be what I consider to be a heavy-weight sweatshirt. This is the exact type of weight we like up here in the northeast as our winters are brutally cold!
The fabrication is 80% Ring-spun cotton and 20% polyester. It has a really soft hand to it and feels great against the naked skin. The jersey lined hood features a drawstring closure and the cuffs and waistband are a ribbed-knit fabrication. This is a pull-over styled hoodie that has a large enough neckline that both my husband and I can easily get this over our heads.
The black sweatshirt features the “California Republic Design” on the front chest of the sweatshirt while the back is plain. I personally do not like wearing designs on the back of my sweatshirts so this one is perfect in my book! It is machine wash & dry and since receiving it, I have laundered it 3 times with no problems! It hasn’t shrunk, nor faded! Comes out perfectly every time!
Regarding the sizing, I would say to order “true-to-size” because I normally wear a large and it fits me like an x-large. Hubby normally wears and x-large and it fits him perfectly. It’s a great unisex design that both hubby and I can wear! Yeah!
Overall, this is a super nice heavy-weight sweatshirt that would be perfect for fall and winter! It is impeccably made and I saw no flaws at all. I appreciate that it’s soft, comfortable and washes up really nicely! I give it 9 1/2 stars out of 10 stars. I only deducted a 1/2 star because I would love to see this design in some additional girly-girl funky colors.
