Cressi Swimming Goggles From SimplySwim

As a sport, competition swimming seems to be a relatively inexpensive one, if it you compare it to football or something similar. But in actuality, because swimming is a sport that lasts year round and the chlorine is super harsh on the suits and the swimming goggles, every few months you are replacing gear.

My son is pretty hard on his goggles. I think I have to replace these at least 3 times per season – both waterpolo and swimming. That is a lot of goggles. The issue is that the product that we find in the sporting good stores are a moderate quality product; ones that are great for casual swimming. But what my kid does everyday is not just casual swimming,  He is in the pool 2-3 hours a day, and more on tournament or additional practice days. So I went on the hunt for professional choices in swimming goggles for him to try out and compare to the versions that he is used to wearing. We found a site that caters to the professional swimmer called SimplySwim.
Cressi Swimming Goggles
SimplySwim is just that; swimwear and swimming products for all of your needs. They offer a huge range of price points and products for you to choose from; from leisure use to performance. We were sent 2 pair of Cressi goggles in the Flash with Tinted Lenses style to try out for review today. The Cressi line is an Italian brand that has been in the swimming and diving equipment business since 1946, creating and innovating scuba and swimming masks and more. My son was excited to try out these goggles.

First out of the package, we could see that these are much different than the types of goggles we have seen and used here. These have additional rubber suction sections that hug the eye area providing additional coverage. This makes sure that there is less or no water leaking into the lenses. That is a huge plus as my son wears contacts and usually wears them while swimming.

The Flash goggles are also made with a solid plastic straps that are a nice thickness so they will not break as easily. I cannot tell you how many pair we lose due to straps breaking. Ugh! These straps also include a nice buckle that allows for easy size adjustment. The goggle frame itself is very thick and sturdy. Another huge plus!
Black Cressi Swim Goggles
My son really likes the lenses too. They are super clear and are made so they are scratch resistant and fog resistant as well as coated for 100% UV coverage. I like that too! These goggles also come packaged in a case that he can use in his swim bag to protect his goggles all the time. They have these cool vents in the back so the moisture will evaporate and dry out. Super nice feature.

As far as performance, my son loves them! The first time in the water using them and he was amazed at the difference in how these work and protected his eyes. No water leakage and no fogging. He was so excited! I am so thrilled for him. Having great goggles that work right and can stand up to excessive wear means that he can focus on his swimming instead of worrying if they are going to work correctly or if they will fail him. I have seen him been delayed several times in races due to goggle issues and that just stinks when that can cause you to lose a race or have a lesser than adequate time. We are both happy to find these goggles and know that they work fabulously for him.
