Breastfeeding Nursing Pillow by My Feeding Friend

August 22, 2012 by Shelly

Today I would like to introduce you to the company called “My Feeding Friend” who makes a line of nursing pillows (aka. breastfeeding pillows) that grow with your child!

From birth to 10 months of age, you can use the adorable pillow for nursing time. When your child turns 10 months of age and up to 3 years of age, you can use the pillow for tummy time and sitting up time. For kids who are over the age of 3+ years, the pillow makes the perfect bedtime buddy!

The breastfeeding pillows currently come in 4 different cuddly animal designs: The Dalmation, The Monkey, The Tiger and The Turtle. They are totally adorable!

My Review: The company sent me their Tiger breastfeeding support pillow to review for all of you. I first want to say, this pillow is quite large, measuring approximately 40″ in length! These pillows are very unique to the industry because they are the “first” grow-with-me nursing pillows to hit the marketplace. As your child grows, the pillow evolves from support pillow to soothing bedtime buddy! Very cool!

The nursing support pillow arrives nicely packaged in a zipper closure plastic storage bag. That bag is reusable which I think is great. If you are a traveling nursing mother, you can place the support pillow back in the storage bag and take it with you while traveling. Even if you are not a nursing mother, you can still use this pillow when bottle feeding your baby.

I am the grandmother to a 3 year old little girl and guess what? My daughter is trying to conceive again! I am hoping that in a few weeks that I will have some awesome news to share with all of you. Anyway, back when she was nursing Little G, I spent a fortune trying to find nursing support pillows that worked, none of them did! I wish I had found this pillow 3 years ago because, I definitely would of purchased it!

As I previously stated, the nursing pillow is very large, about 40″ in length by about 18″ wide. With that said, it is not heavy at all and is “lightly” stuffed, not firmly stuffed with fiberfill. You can easily transport this support pillow from room-to-room or take it with you when traveling.

As soon as I took the Tiger pillow out of the package, my 3 year old granddaughter “claimed” it for herself. However, we are just letting her use it for bedtime for now and once the new baby comes, my daughter will be using it when nursing the baby.

For now, my daughter faux-tried it out by sitting the pillow onto her lap while sitting up in bed. She said the pillow was not heavy at all and the weight didn’t bother her hips or legs. She likes that it is super-sized and will grow with her next child. The previous pillows she used were for infants or young babies…what’s a mom to do once the child reaches 9 months or 12 months of age? Well, this pillow will still work with older babies and toddlers too! The Tiger is super soft, just like a plush animal should be! There is nothing on this support pillow to hurt or scratch your child at all.

We are hoping that in a couple of weeks Little G will forget about the Tiger pillow so that we can put it back into the storage bag for when the new baby arrives. (keeping our fingers crossed on that). In the meantime, my 28 year old daughter is super excited to have a new nursing support pillow waiting for her & the new baby when the time arrives!
