What gal wouldn’t dream of having a fabulous job where you work part of the time in New York and part of the time in Los Angeles? Sounds like a dream come true for a single gal, doesn’t it? And that is the dream job that fell into the lap of our main character, Lindsey Miller.
Bicoastal Babe by Cynthia Langston, centers on Lindsey Miller, a single, unemployed twenty-something who, by some miracle, lands the ever-so-fabulous job writing a trend-tracking newsletter that covers everything from fashion to food to cosmetics. With her new gig, Lindsey jet sets between Los Angeles and New York searching for the next must-have.
While searching for what’s hot, she definitely finds two things too hot to resist: men in different cities across the country. Sounds like the perfect scenario; however, things do not go as planned when Lindsey realizes that she has no idea what she is doing, romantically or professionally.
This light-hearted book is a page-turner, full of excitement and absolutely entertaining, so it is not a surprise that the CW has picked it up and is making it into a television show, Trending, produced by Katherine Heigl.
My Thoughts:
Bicoastal Babe is a very humorous book that will keep you turning pages as quickly as you can read them. Lindsey has a bit of a rocky start when she loses her job, gets sick and ends up stalking her ex boyfriend and getting caught! Every woman’s nightmare! Her best friend helps set her up for an interview at a huge firm in her home town of Chicago and she ends up with the job… well, not the job she went in for, but an amazing job where she splits her time between the 2 coasts.
Things just aren’t as good as expected as her co worker she splits her job with and Lindsey are just not the greatest of friends. Lindsey just cannot get the hang of the job and then when she meets this hot guy, she loses focus for a bit and ticks off the co worker. Things just can’t get worse can they? Oh yes!
Lindsey finds herself in a whole heap of troubles and issues that are humorous, entertaining and scenarios that make this book a great read! The author creates an fun and quirky story line that is fun to follow and leaves you wanting more. I love that the ending is totally left open for another book and it is a bit of a shocker too! The fact that Katherine Heigl and the CW is making this book into a TV show is awesome! Personally, I can totally see Ms. Heigl as Lindsey but she will not star in it, just produce. It will still be a great show.
