I am sorry ladies…but today, I really must vent about something here on our blog that I have been frustrated with for the past 29 years! Let me explain, my husband does NOT have a middle name and never had one! His birth certificate has his first name and his last name. His mother did not give any of the 4 boys a middle name!
It does not bother me one bit that my husband doesn’t have a middle name. I mean really, not having a middle name is NOT a big deal! Well, over the years when we go to do something official like open bank accounts, apply for mortgages, get a new car, open up credit cards, etc. etc. etc. Clerks and people make a big deal about him not having a middle name!
Earlier today this gal calls us and wants to know why we haven’t paid this bill for such and such utility company for $41.12. I proceed to ask her what kind of bill is it, when was it for, etc. You know, the important questions that I needed to know.
After I obtain all the “important” info from her I tell her that my husband is NOT Samuel _____ Hill and that his name is just Samuel Hill with no middle name. Well, the hose bag goes off on me…telling me that I am a liar, that every child in America has a middle name and that she felt I was claiming “no middle name” and “mistaken” identity to get out of paying a $41.12 bill. What the heck????? Really????
Oh my gosh, I hit the roof on this chic and really went off on her! Who the h*ll does she think she is talking to? Called me a liar? A cheapskate? Said she will call me daily to collect? What the hell????? OH my!!!!
I finally spewed my mouth and it wasn’t nice on this woman and hung up on her. Thankfully I got the company’s name and called in there and requested to speak to a supervisor who happens to be in a meeting. I have scheduled a phone appt. with this supervisor for tomorrow at 11am. I am burning, pissing mad at the moment!!!
I can not believe the nerve of some people! Gimme a break, not everyone in America has a middle name and not everyone in America will skip out on a stupid $41.12 bill. If we genuinely owe you money, we will pay it! Wow…I am so hot at the moment I need a cold shower!
I feel very “unclassy” at the moment but that dang girl really has ticked me off with how she spoke to me today. Blah!!!!
Thanks ladies for the support! T-minus 22 minutes until phone meeting w/that supervisor. I am happy to hear that my hubby is not the only “one” in America with no middle name! Take that you nasty woman on the phone!
That is so ridiculous. My husband and his brother don’t have middle names either. His dad came from Holland as a teen and had no middle name so it was a family thing to do no middle name. It bugged my BIL but my husband has a good enough humor about it and tries to make people guess his middle name. At his old job you had to log on with your initials and it required 3 digits so he had to use a X in place of a middle initial. We decided not to continue the trend and give our son a middle name. You are not alone!!
Thanks ladies! I got a phone appointment with her supervisor regarding this matter later this morning and if I don’t get results from him, I will climb the ladder to someone else. No one is going to get away with calling my home and offending me like that!

LOL! That is too funny! My father didn’t have a middle name either. Not only did he not have a middle name but she named him LZ! It sounds just like it is spelt. People wanted to know what it stood for? We had no idea, his mother died when he was 4 years old. We think because her name was Elzina! So I understand your frustration.
OK SHE will be fired!! FOLLOW UP! Seriously – that is uncalled for! Not OK at all!!! I’m sorry but I have NO tolerance for that.
