It’s our wonderful Holiday week! Happy Birthday America! Many of us are celebrating all week long; some of us just the weekends or on the 4th itself. Many will celebrate by hosting backyard BBQ’s or pool parties and there is nothing more fun that matching your drinks to the celebration for a great party! There are some must-haves at every celebration – wine, liquor and food!
I was sent some awesome fruit wines and liquor to try for you and tell you all about some delicious pairings that you and your guests will enjoy! Here are some great suggestions!
Set up a “make your own” burger bar. Fill up clear bowls with an assortment of condiments, sides and toppings. Let party guests customize their meal. Nothing goes better with a juicy burger than chilled Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais-Villages. Ideal for warm weather, this fruity wine is not only refreshing, but puts a fun spin on the usual Fourth of July meal.
Looking for glamorous centerpieces? Place bottles of [ yellow tail ] Sweet Red Roo in wine buckets adorned with a red, white and blue ribbon. The prismatic bright red label adds the perfect touch to every table. Exploding with fruity flavors and boasting berries, vanilla and chocolate with every sip, don’t expect these wines to stay on the tables for very long.
A unique dessert will keep your Independence Day party going on long after the fireworks end. Try pears poached in Hob Nob Cabernet Sauvignon. Seat them upright in ricotta cheese and then drizzle them with Cabernet Sauvignon. Chill in the refrigerator and just before serving, garnish with toasted pignoli nuts, if desired. This dessert is delicious, sophisticated and will leave your guests begging for more.
Don’t forget about the non-wine drinkers at your party, they need to celebrate too! This gorgeous layered shooter cocktail is called “Fourth of July”.
The overall flavor of this drink is a blend of pomegranate and orange – fruity, but not too sweet. You can pour these before a party starts and put them in a tray in the refrigerator, bring them out as a surprise after dinner drink for guests. The presentation possibilities are amazing! To make your “Fourth of July” drinks – Layer equal amounts of the following, in this order: Grenadine, Blue Curacao, Luksusowa Vodka and then enjoy while watching fireworks!
I thought I would play around a bit with the 4th of July theme and I paired the [yellow tail] ROO with some ginger ale and blueberries for a delicious and refreshing spritzer. 7-up or Sprite would be awesome too, I just happened to have the ginger ale here. This is light enough for a lunchtime BBQ. The ROO is so flavorful with the fruit flavor the blueberries in my drink worked perfectly!
I love vodka and so I have to make my favorite cocktail for anytime. It didn’t fall in well with the red, white and blue theme, but it is a light drink that works wonderfully for any afternoon and evening party! The simple Luksusowa Vodka Cranberry with Lime is not too sweet and very good!
Later in the evening, I enjoyed a glass of the Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais-Villages that I chilled and it is a light fruity wine that is so delicious. I have been enjoying watermelon this season so I threw in a garnish of a few chunks and smashed it a bit and that added a new level of fruit to it and it was awesome! Tonight we have throwing some steaks on the grill and I am serving the Hob Nob Cabernet Sauvignon which I know my hubby will enjoy! Beautifully smooth and full of amazing deep flavors.
The 4th is almost here so when planning your summer parties and BBQ’s for the holidays, why not grab a few bottles of some of these delicious wines or vodka and enjoy a few light and refreshing adult beverages. Yumm
