OXY Foaming Action Exterior Multi-Surface Cleaner

July 22, 2012 by Shelly

Multi Surface Cleaner OXYMy husband and I have been big fans of Thompson’s WaterSeal wood stains for years, but until now, we have never tried any of their cleaning products. As you all know, we have been super busy remodeling an old house that we bought 2 1/2 years ago and trying to prepare it for our move later this summer.

The great folks over at Thompson’s WaterSeal sent us their OXY Foaming Action Exterior Multi-Surface Cleaner to review for all of you. This is a concentrated cleaning product that can remove stains from dirt, mildew, algae and fungi from all kinds of exterior surfaces like concrete, wood, composite decks, fences, masonry, bricks, stucco, outdoor furniture and more!

It comes in a powder form and it’s safely contained in a bottle with a screw-top lid. You will want to keep this product out of the reach of children. When you are ready to use it, you will mix 3 to 4 capfuls in a gallon of water. You then wait a few minutes for the crystals to dissolve and then it is ready to use.

Multi Surface Cleaner OXY

We followed the directions on the bottle and soaked our cement bottom patio with water from our garden hose. We then sprayed the OXY Foaming Action Exterior Multi-Surface Cleaner all over the concrete and did so, generously. We waited for 10 minutes and then used a scrub brush to really scrub it in. After another 5 to 10 minutes passed, we rinsed it off with our garden hose.

If you look really closely at my photos, you will see the green and dark brown mildew spots (large spots) all over the concrete. Where you see the lighter areas is where we scrubbed the concrete with this wonderful cleaner! yeah! We used an entire bottle Sunday afternoon and got most of it cleaned off. We are going to use the second bottle next weekend to finish cleaning the patio and then use the third bottle on our large front porch.

This cleaner works but you will have to put some scrubbing into it. We tried just spraying it on and rinsing it…which worked a little bit but once we put our elbow grease into scrubbing it in, it really worked well! We are super happy with the results we got and are looking forward to using it again next weekend on the rest of the areas we need to clean.

If you are not familiar with Thompson’s WaterSeal products, we would love to invite you to check out their web site as they carry so much more than just deck and wood stains! Thanks Thompson’s WaterSeal!
