My Son Broke the Car

July 11, 2012 by Classystaff

In this crazy economy sometimes it is tough to get ahead. Once you think you see the light at the end of the tunnel, the tunnel gets longer or the bulb burns out! LOL My family has had its share of job and financial issues for the past few years and now that there is a teenager in the house that is driving, it is not going to get any better.

Today my son was coming home from water polo practice and there is a portion in the road that has been sinking for several years. Well, he hit that dip full on and the tire blew out on him. I am really thankful that he was not hurt and that he was just around the corner from the house. So he comes running in and tells me and his dad what happened so I go out there and that tire is just Hissing and that tire is flatten in a minute. Ack!

Bad news! We just bought those tires less than 3 months ago and the city should have fixed that dip years ago. So momma bear gets on the phone to the city all hot and bothered! I am going to force them to buy me a new tire. At $200+ each, I just do not have the money to get a new one and they should have fixed that road! Thankfully we do have a good spare, but it does not match… bummer. Unfortunately, we only have 1 car. Crud

My poor kid feels awful and has a lot of guilt but whether it was his fault or not, I am glad he was not injured. It will work out one way or another, I know. I wonder what the guy from the city will say when he calls me tomorrow. HAHA I hope he has his checkbook ready! I do not back down very easily!

Updates to come!

I can not believe how rude clerks can be . I think you should continue to pursue this if it is not too much trouble for you.

You go Momma Bear! We have a speed bump when you first turn down the street to our property and that speed bump is way too high. The township has promised repeatedly to remove it or make it lower as over 50 cars have been damaged the past 18 months. “promised is the operated word here” and so far, that is all it is…promises & a lot of hot air talk.
