The Best Portable Phone Charger

A few days ago I told you all about my husband’s upcoming 51st birthday party and how I will be hosting the party at one of his favorite restaurants. We wanted to do this last year for his 50th birthday, but I was in the hospital and had to cancel the party.

Hubby handed me his gift “wish list” and the second item on his list this year is a Portable Phone Charger. At first I wasn’t really sure what that was, but I did a search online and learned quite a bit about them.

Here is some of what I learned:

* They are portable and run off of solar power. (that is a huge plus since our vacation cabin has hit & miss electric power. Charging it up via the sun is a huge deal for us!).

* A good quality portable iPhone charger can charge up your cell phone in around an hour. I think that is awesome as we don’t have all day & night to wait for our cell phones to charge up.

* Solar power is free! Once you invest in the charger, there is no other expenses involved. What a big money-saver that is!

* They are light-weight and can fit into a briefcase, backpack, purse, tote bag, luggage or even into the glove box of most cars and trucks. Since we are really limited on space when we travel, I think it’s awesome that they are compact and light-weight.

* They are affordable! You can buy high quality ones for around $130.00 which is at a price point that most people can afford. Since it’s solar powered, that is basically your only out-of-pocket expense.

After learning about these solar-powered portable iPhone chargers, I think I will get hubby one for his birthday since he requested it. Perhaps I should get myself one too, that way we don’t have to share! ha!

Do any of you own a portable phone charger? If so, what kind do you have? How do you like it? I would love to hear your thoughts on this as I am seriously wanting to get my husband one for his upcoming birthday.
