I Would Love to Hire an Architectural Designer

For the past few months I have been telling you all about the various home improvement projects we have been working on over at our new (old) house and they are really coming along nicely.

My husband and I waited a long time until we could afford to purchase our second house and even though this one is an older house, it has a lot of personality, history and charm.

One of the things we have been talking about lately is that we would love to find a good architectural designer to come into our home and add some customized touches to the home’s architecture.

For example, the upstairs was started about 25 years ago and has 3 rooms. The previous owners stopped at that point and never finished those 3 rooms. They have just a basic floor and divider walls. There are no doors, only 3 windows, no flooring (such as carpet), no trim work, nothing!

Hubby is going to totally finish off those upstairs 3 rooms and turn them into 2 bedrooms and a large full bathroom. He would love for an architect to come in and design a balcony with french doors that lead out from the biggest room up there. I think that would be pretty and I love my husband’s idea for that room.

Another thing we would like to get designed for us is our own backyard gazebo but we would like the gazebo to match our existing home’s architecture. The home is done in a country ranch style with a few hints of “Spanish” flavor that the previous owners had added in.

We have been saving up our money for years to undertake this big home remodeling project and now that it has kicked into full gear, we are ready to add some additional customized touches.

My other update for today is… Hubby and I are going to take a break and jet off for a one week vacation down to Palm Beach later next month to visit with my sister. We are really looking forward to this last-minute vacation and just taking a break from all of this home remodeling.
