Our Review: We were sent 2 different Hot Dots Jr. Activity Card Sets and the new Hot Dots Jr. “Kat” the talking, teaching kitty pen to review for all of you. I first want to tell you, we do own a few of the Hot Dots Jr. products by Educational Insights but not these particular three. Little G is 3 years old and is a little advanced for her age since she has been attending preschool since 5 months of age. Gotta love preschool as they always help our children learn.
The Hot Dots Jr. Beginning Phonics Activity Cards is a set that we have been wanting for Little G and now we have them! I love how they come packaged in reusable boxes with carrying handles. This particular set of activity cards is made for ages 3-6 and grades Pre-K+. They can be used with Ace the Talking Dog Pen or with Kat the Talking Kitty Pen.
This is a great set for any child who is getting ready for school and the set contains 72 colorful self-checking lessons that are on 36 heavy-duty double-sided cards. The set covers a wide variety of skills for a complete phonics readiness program.
The Hot Dots Jr. Card Set Colors comes packaged in a reusable storage box with carrying handle. The set is made for ages 3-6 and grades Pre-K+. This set contains 36 double-sided heavy-duty cards with a total of 72 color activity lessons (one lesson on each side of the cards). This set can be used with Ace the Talking Dog Pen or with Kat the Talking Kitty Pen.
This is a great set for any child who needs to learn their colors and the set goes beyond teaching them the color names, it also helps them to identify objects that are a particular color. Example: Red on one card is associated with a Red Cardinal (the bird).
We have the Ace the Dog Talking Pen and were super excited to get the new Kat the Talking Kitty Pen since Little G loves cats and she loves the color purple! The talking pen goes along nicely with the cards and is perfect for little preschool aged girls (although boys can use it too!).
Kat will light up and will talk back to your child which is a fun incentive to getting them to learn from the activity cards. Your child will hold the pen and press it on the activity card on the item they want to select as their answer. If they are correct, Kat will praise them. If they select the wrong answer, Kat will encourage them to try again! Totally fun!
