Strawberry Gelatin Salad Recipe Using Tupperware Gelatin Mold

July 10, 2012 by Shelly

Fresh Strawberries

This is an easy to prepare gelatin dessert recipe that both kids and adults will love. We love making this recipe during the hot summer months when we want a cool and refreshing dessert.

note: I sometimes use a little more sour cream and Cool Whip than what is called for in the recipe…so feel free to bump that amount up a little bit.

Homemade Strawberry Gelatin Salad Recipe

1 box strawberry gelatin mix
2 cups boiling water
1 box frozen sliced strawberries
1 can crushed pineapples, drained
2 bananas, diced
1 cup sour cream
1 cup Cool Whip

Dissolve the strawberry gelatin in boiling water, stir in the sliced strawberries until melted. Stir in the crushed pineapples and diced bananas, mix well. Place 1/2 of the mixture in a gelatin mold or serving dish and refrigerate until firm.

Combine together the sour cream with the Cool Whip and spread this mixture on top of the firm gelatin mixture and then top with the remaining gelatin mixture that you reserved. Place back into the refrigerator for 2 hours to allow it to become firm again.

This sounds great , and you could also place the gelatin mixture in a graham cracker crust before you put on the creamy mixture and have a delicious pie

I prefer to use a cherry gelatin instead of strawberry
