Garlic Gold Delicious Garlic Nuggets

July 16, 2012 by Classystaff

My family loves garlic so much so that my hubby will think nothing of slow roasting giant heads of garlic smothered in olive oil and then eating the whole thing with french bread. Of course he stinks for days but he loves it! My son loves it too and his favorite pasta is Butter and Garlic Spaghetti that I make for dinner, more often than not. No plain old spaghetti here! So I was thrilled to be able to sample and review two new products from the Garlic Gold folks located right here in the garlic capital of the world, California!

Garlic Gold makes this fabulous product called Garlic Nuggets where they take chunks of garlic and mix it with fabulous herbs and flavors for a crunchy textured product that will blow you away. I tried some previously last year or so when I was able to review some of their amazing Garlic Oil and I was so thrilled when they allowed me to try their new flavors for you.

I received a bottle of their Garlic Gold Southwest Nuggets and the Garlic Gold Herbs de Provence to try out. The Southwest blend is a no brainer for me. We love Southwest cooking in California and every few weeks we do a Taco night and on the table was the Garlic Gold Southwest Nuggets. I added a bunch to my Taco and the taste and texture is really different. The nuggets are crunchy so you get a nice bite of garlic with some of the flavors from the seasoning. There is a tiny bit of heat, but it does not detract from the overall flavor. The garlic is not overwhelming either. It took our dinner from “oh tacos” to OH TACOS! A delicious addition for certain!

The Garlic Gold Herbs de Provence was a bit more difficult for me. I am not familiar with this type of seasoning at all as I think I have ever eaten French style food only once or twice in my life. Reading the bottle it recommended that these Nuggets be used in Sauces, Gravies or Dressings and you can use it on Veggies. So I thought that we would try that.

My hubby was smoking some chicken for dinner the other night, so we threw on some onions in the smoker too for some depth of flavor. In the over we roasted off some Cauliflower coated with Olive Oil and a touch of salt. Once out of the oven, sprinkled some Parmesan and the Herb de Provence on it and on the onion too. The taste was good. It has the garlic of course, along with some basil and thyme flavor which worked nicely with the veggies. Their blend also contains some other herbs that I could not identify but added a savory taste to the veggies. The crunch of the garlic was a delicious texture. Unfortunately I forgot to take the picture of our veggies we enjoyed but here is a photo of what the herbs and garlic look like. Pretty and good!

Overall, the new Garlic Gold Nuggets are a product that my hubby suggested we keep in the house at all times! We especially loved the Southwest flavor and we are going to try the Herb de Provence on some light meats next, like maybe a fish and definitely in my salad. That would be great!
