Virtual Cloud Private Server for Web Hosting
I will be the first person to admit that I am not very tech savvy when it comes to web site hosting or blog site hosting at all. With that said, I have been trying to educate myself the past few weeks on VPS Hosting. Have any of you ever heard of it?
Just a few weeks ago Chris and I had to find someone to relocate our site onto a different web host because our old host couldn’t handle the size of our site or our heavy site traffic. I am very thankful that we hired someone who was knowledgeable and did a great job for us.
Now that we are moved, I am considering moving my 4 Blogger Blogs over to WordPress which means I will need some good hosting for all 4 of those. Frankly, I just prefer WordPress these days as I like to have 100% control over my sites, you don’t get that with Blogger.
I have been looking at getting a Virtual Cloud Private Server and have been trying to educate myself on that. I did the shared server thing with our last hosting company and didn’t like that at all. Like I said, I want total control and I want all my sites on a private server and not on a shared one.
What I learned is that when you go to a Virtual Cloud Private Server you only pay for the resources that you need and only when you need them. You can get guaranteed resource allocation for your site/server which is really important! I also learned that disk performance is increased and more reliable in a virtual private server environment. After what we went through with our last web host, all of this is important to know!
I found this one company that even offers VPS Hosting Stacks which are preinstalled VPS servers with turn key software on them for those who are looking to make a little extra money. One thing that I’m still curious about is Bluehost vs. Wix: Which is best? Do any of you have experience with either one?
Anyway, I did some research on this and I thought it would be expensive but quickly learned that it is relatively affordable and the benefits are tremendous! Running all of these businesses online, I need fast and reliable web hosting and I think this is the way for me to go.
Do you have a Virtual Cloud Private Server and if so, do you like it?
