Penguin and Panda Updates The Effect On The Blogger

You know, I don’t ask for much. I work hard to make money honestly and decently online. Then the world gets shaken up and the crap starts falling…. Where does it fall? Right on the little guy, trying to make some money.

Here is the gig. For several years we have been writing for people, whether it be reviews or blog conversations. Now with the Google Penguin and Panda updates, people (sites) are realizing their unfortunate choices of keyword links in the past has affected their ranking in a negative manner. So now they are flocking back to the bloggers to make changes to their keywords.

Holy Smokes! what the heck??

Here is my take:

First off… its a bit late to deal with that. Ya, you can request that Google come and reevaluate in a month or so, but it is at their discretion.

Secondly… Your keyword links that you gave me, whether it be 1 or 10, really don’t affect my site. I was paid to complete a job at the time it was requested and I did that. Now that it is an issue to you, I’m sorry, that doesn’t make it an issue for me. I am NOT trying to be rude, but we did the job You requested at the time.

Thirdly… I was paid to do a job and any changes to that job have been completed when it was accepted by the requester yesterday or three years ago. Because you want me to run around through my blogs and find your link to change keywords now, it is not a priority to me and it will only happen for a fee.

We write for a fee. Period.

No free lunch – I get nothing out of it. In fact, this issue is causing me, my biz partner and a whole bunch of other bloggers additional work – Work that needs to be paid for.

So here is the New Policy on Two Classy Chics and any other blog we own collectively or separately….

If you are coming back to us, after the fact, to find a blog post, review or any other form of write up for link changes, we will be charging to complete this service.

Changing the links to us does not just mean you take one out and plop a new one in… In many cases we have to rewrite the sentences so the work flows properly. In most cases we have to hunt through blogs to find your write ups. This is a time consuming action and we will be compensated for it. It will be a Minimum of $3 per post – more if it needs a lot of corrections.

We understand you are trying to protect your business and your ranking. We have the same issues, but we are not going to work for free. Sorry if that makes you mad, but somewhere someone got paid to select the blogs and the keywords and we just follow directions.

Thanks for your understanding on our point of view and we hope that we can continue to work together in the future.
