Do any of our blog readers live in Kansas City? My husband’s brother is planning on moving and wants to buy a Kansas City Home. He has never lived outside of Pennsylvania so this will be a big change for him and his family.
The economy here in Pennsylvania has been really slow and he has been out of work for the past twelve months. He found a construction company online and sent in his resume and went for an interview last week and they gave him a job. He starts his new job on July 15th.
I have never been to Kansas City before so I am not sure what to tell him about the housing market down there. We did do some searching online last night and found a few 3-bedroom homes in his price range that he wants to check out when they go down there for a visit this coming weekend.
When I think of Kansas, I think of thousands upon thousands of miles of corn fields and hay bales. However, he told me that the Kansas City area is really beautiful with a slew of family-friendly activities to do. He said a friend of his told him that it’s a great area to raise kids and that they have a very good school system.
For those of you who live in Kansas City, what kind of things do you like to do? How is the economy and housing market down there? I would love to hear any tips or suggestions that any of you have that I can pass along to my brother-in-law when I see him tomorrow. Thanks!
