June 17 is National Eat Your Vegetables Day + Veggie Juice Recipes
June is National Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Month, and June 17 is National Eat Your Vegetables Day! This day is the perfect opportunity to re-introduce a healthy portion of vegetables into your diet. No doubt about it, Eat Your Vegetables Day was created to promote a more healthy diet – for life!
On this day, it is encouraged to eat vegetables for every meal, and even for a snack.Better yet, try drinking your vegetables by juicing! National Eat Your Vegetables Day is the perfect opportunity to pick a few ripe tomatoes or some fresh basil leaves from the garden and create a juice with them. Encourage the whole family to eat (and drink!) a few extra vegetables on this day. June 17th is also Father’s Day, so show Dad how much you love and care for him by making him a “good-for-you” veggie juice that he will really enjoy!
Let children help create the juices and along the way, you tell your kids a little about the importance of vegetables for a long and healthy life. Add some fruit for the sweetness kids crave and create fun names for the drinks and you will have a veggie drinking family in no time!
