My Review: I have blogged here on our blog a few times about my very sensitive skin and my chronic problem with skin hives and rashes. I am always on the hunt to find a better natural laundry detergent for me and my family. The great folks at Mercola sent me their Greener Cleaner Laundry Detergent 2-Pack to review for all of you.
This laundry detergent comes in a liquid form and is 100% natural and 100% biodegradable. It’s good for you and it’s good for our planet. All of the ingredients used in making this laundry detergent are 100% certified eco-friendly. The company uses a combination of 3 plant-based enzymes which help to break down dirt and to clean your laundry. No chemicals are used! In addition, it is sulfate-free and phosphate-free. I know a lot of people have issues with sulfates so that is important information to know.
This natural liquid laundry detergent is highly-concentrated so a little bit goes a long way. In addition, you will not have to use any type of fabric softeners when doing your laundry because this detergent has a natural plant-based fabric softener in it. I love that! It can be used in any temperature of water, including cold water and is safe for HE front loading machines or for conventional top loading washing machines.
I decided to give it a test run first with some of my light colored household laundry and I used cold water when filling up my machine. I did a full load so I used a 1/2 cup of detergent in my washing machine. I first noticed that it has a pleasant light refreshing clean scent to it, nothing stinky or heavy in regards to scent. As my washer filled up I also noticed that it only produces a small amount of suds which is a GREAT thing! Many people think you need a slew of soap suds to get clothing clean and that just is not true!
It took 45 minutes for my wash to get done and then I tossed it all into the dryer. Once done I was anxious to see how it all turned out. It was extremely clean, smelled fresh, my lights & whites were bright and guess what? Absolutely NO static cling and my clothing and towels were super soft! (no fabric softener used). Wow, I was immediately impressed!
I then tossed a second load into my washer but this time I did a dark load along with denims mixed into it. I used a 1/2 cup of laundry detergent and left them wash. Once done, tossed into the dryer and waited for an hour until they were done. Every item was sparkling clean, our darks didn’t fade, no colors ran/bled and everything was super soft. Wow!
I can not tell you how impressed I am with this laundry detergent. Now the super important part. As you know, I have sensitive skin with chronic hives and rashes. Laundry detergents really irritate my condition and to tell you honestly, I had absolutely NO skin irritations at all using this laundry detergent. In addition, I used it to also wash my 3 yr. old grand-wee-one’s clothing and it didn’t irritate her skin either.
This Greener Cleaner Liquid Laundry Detergent is absolutely fantastic! I really don’t think they could ever make this laundry detergent any better!
