My Review: The great folks over at ArmadilloPepper sent me their Exotic Flavors Jerky Gift Basket to review for all of you. Once our gift basket arrived I gave it to my hubby as he LOVES all kinds of jerky. The presentation on this gift basket was really nice as it was beautifully wrapped with a nice bow. Inside the gift basket was 6 individual packages of various flavors of jerky.
The first one that hubby and I tried out was the Cattaneo Bros. Teriyaki Turkey Jerky – Hawaiian Style which is a 98% fat-free jerky. Hubby loves turkey jerky so I knew he would select this one first. This jerky was marinated with Hawaiian pineapple juice and sweet tasty honey. Hubby and I had that pack of jerky gone in rapid fashion and it was our favorite one out of the bunch!
The second one that we tried is Fatman’s Beef Jerky in the Green Chile flavor. Now you might be thinking that this jerky is fiery hot…but it’s not! We would classify it as being mild and oh…so…delicious!
The third on that we tried is the Cattaneo Bros. Teriyaki Turkey Jerky that is just as sweet and delicious as the first jerky we tried. We love jerky that is full of flavor and this one is exactly that!
The fourth one that we tried is the Fatman’s Jalapeno Lime Beef Jerky that is made from 100% American beef. We thought this one would be fiery hot, but it was not! It is mild…very flavorful with mild heat kick to it. My brother totally loved this one and snatched the rest of the bag from us!
The final two that we tried is the Fatman’s Lemon Pepper Beef Jerky and the Fatman’s Red Chile Beef Jerky. The Lemon Pepper Jerky is seasoned with cracked black pepper and has a hint of lemon flavor. I didn’t care much for this flavor but my hubby and daughter really liked this one! The Red Chile Jerky is considered to be an exotic flavor and don’t be afraid of it because of the Chile. It’s not mouth-burning hot at all, nicely seasoned, moist, flavor and a mild kick to it. yum!
Overall, We are super pleased with the assortment of exotic jerkys that we received in this gift basket. I really appreciated that most of their jerky is thinly sliced which is great for me since I have jaw problems. In addition, their jerky is not all dried out and brittle at all. Their jerky is the way that jerky is supposed to be made and we absolutely LOVED it!
