Conair ExtremeSteam Professional Hand Held Garment Steamer

Over the past 2 years I have reviewed several great products from the Conair company and today, we are reviewing the new Conair® ExtremeSteam™ Professional Hand Held Garment Steamer.

We received this steamer a few weeks ago and have used it a couple of times. We found it to be light-weight and it fits comfortably in your hands. They state the water reservoir is easy to fill, I didn’t find it as easy as it could be. The reservoir has a tiny hole about the size of a straw’s diameter and that is how you fill it. We held it under the tap and had to adjust our tap’s stream to get the water to go into the small hole. Once it’s in the hole you slide the rubber plug over the top. We had no dripping or leaking at all and the reservoir snaps quickly and easily into place.

The steamer heats up to full capacity in less that 1 minute and it has a max 15 minutes of steam time. We tested out the steamer on one of my husband’s dark purple work shirts. This shirt gets incredibly wrinkly so I knew it would make a great shirt to test it out on.

Hubby ran the steamer for me so I could shoot the photos and head an easy time of using it. However, it did spray some excess water out onto the shirt and left a few water spots. He had to wait about 30 minutes for the shirt to completely dry. We tried it on another shirt and still had some spraying of water droplets but not as many that we had the first time around.

The steamer is a great size for those of you who do a lot of traveling and want to take it with you. It’s also the perfect size if you want to keep it at the office and use it to freshen up your shirts and suit jackets before a big meeting.

The only 2 minor drawbacks I found with this item were: (1) the water reservoir opening is really small and (2) it did spray water droplets from time to time onto his shirts (which meant we had to leave his shirts dry before he could wear them, see photo above). Other than that, it is a great product!
