Kicking criminal butts and taking the law into his own hands, Danny Trejo (Machete, “Sons of Anarchy”) ignites the screen in the gritty, violent and enthralling film Bad Ass. Inspired by the viral video of a vigilante citizen taking action into his own hands, Bad Ass also stars Ron Perlman (“Sons of Anarchy,” Hellboy) and Charles S. Dutton (Alien 3). Bad Ass tells the story of decorated Vietnam hero, Frank Vega, who returns home only to be shunned by society. It’s not until 40 years later when an incident on a commuter bus makes him a local hero and he’s suddenly celebrated once again. But his good fortune ends when his best friend, Klondike, is murdered and the police aren’t doing anything about it.

Titus Murphy, Terri Barnett, Lei Yuille and Bobby Green
During the 1992 Los Angeles riots, Reginald Denny, a truck driver, was brutally attacked with a brick. Seeing this violence broadcast on TV, Titus Murphy and Terri Barnett rushed to the scene to help him. There, they encountered Lei Yuille and Bobby Green, and together, the four of them worked to move Denny and his truck to safety and to get the gravely injured man to a hospital. Barnett drove her car to lead the way, while Yuille comforted Denny, Green drove Denny’s truck, and Murphy pretended to be a rioter on the outside of the track to keep other would-be attackers at bay. The foursome was eventually able to get Denny to the hospital, where he underwent extensive surgery for his injuries, but survived due in part to their heroic actions.
Jeff May
In 2005, a troubled student named Jeff Weise opened fire on Red Lake Senior High School in northern Minnesota, after shooting and killing his police officer grandfather and stealing his patrol car. After Weise charged into his classroom and shot one teacher and five student, Jeff May decided to try to tackle him after he had run out of ammunition. May grappled with Weise just long enough to spare the lives of the rest of the people in the classroom before Weise shot May. Police arrived and exchanged gunfire with Weise outside of the classroom; he was shot three times before he shot himself in the head. Weise killed eight people and wounded seven. Though May suffered serious injuries, he survived and helped protect his fellow students in a remarkably heroic act of self-sacrifice.
Kristen Goodgion and Brent Reese
In 2011 when 12 year-old Kylee Shea fell unconscious in a school hallway, Kristen Goodgion and Brent Reese, teachers at Maus Middle School in Frisco, Texas, rushed within seconds to her aid. Given that these teachers were trained by the school in CPR and instructed on how to use an automatic external defibrillator (AED), Goodigion and Reese were able to revive the fallen student in an act of heroism that was caught on the school’s security cameras. If it weren’t for these heroic teachers, Kylee would have had only a three percent chance of survival.
Steven Love
Earlier this year, Steven Love was waiting for his train when he noticed a man collapse and fall into the tracks four feet below. Love then jumped down into the tracks to assist the man, and he noticed that the man was covered in blood and he could not find his pulse. To make matters worse, as Love tried to help the man to safety, a train neared the station. Luckily, the conductor was able to stop the train about 50 feet from the two men, and the injured man was rushed to the hospital.
