My Review: The great folks over at SunGrubbies sent me their Great Outdoors UV Protection Shirt to review for all of you. This shirt is what I call a 4 seasons shirt, it can be worn all year long. It is made by Columbia and has 40 UPF sun protection in it’s fabrication which is a combination of Polyester & Elastane. It is machine washable and due to it’s fabrication, it dries super quickly.
The color we received for the review is “ICY BLUE” which is a really pretty pale blue color. The shirt features a button-up front with dyed to match buttons. The shirt has underarm stretch panels, covered back mesh venting, sun collar and sun cuffs, 1 front chest zipper closure pocket, front princess seaming which is figure-flattering and roll-up sleeves with hidden tabs which are great for a year-around shirt!
When the shirt arrived it was way too big on me so I enlisted the help of my mother for this review. Mother tried on the shirt and right away commented to me that she liked how light-weight the shirt was and that it felt nice and cool against her skin. She likes the zipper closure chest pocket because she often carries lip balm and/or facial tissues with her so she can easily tuck those into the pocket if she wanted. The best thing she loved about this shirt was that she can roll-up the sleeves and secure them via the hidden tabs or unroll them to keep her arms covered up. The inside of the shirt is impeccable, no loose or crooked seaming and it’s nicely finished off.
Since receiving the shirt, mom has worn it several times. Since it is a little big on her, she wears a tank or cami underneath it and at times has even belted it with a thin belt. She also loves the length of this shirt because she can wear it with leggings, so I would say it’s almost tunic length. Overall, mom gives the shirt 9 stars out of 10 stars. She only deducted 1 star as she would like to see it in additional colors in the future and perhaps slightly larger buttons to make the buttoning easier. She said she would not hesitate in purchasing this shirt and highly recommends it to all of you.
