Powerhorse Portable Generator with Surge Protection
Hubby and I own a small vacation home down at the Jersey Shore and spend as much time as we can there. With all of the coastal storms we have been getting for the past few years we have been seriously considering purchasing a few Generators for home use. Why a few you might ask? Well, we actually own 3 properties!
We have been doing some extensive research and window shopping online and so far the one we are leaning towards is called a Powerhorse Portable Generator with 7000W Surge Protection.
What we love about this particular model is that it is powered by gasoline and not by diesel fuel which is super expensive right now. We also love that at full capacity it will run cleanly for up to 9 hours. Wow, that is a lot of running time! The max rate watts is 7000 and the continuous rate watts is 5000 which is exactly the kind of power and unit we are looking for.
We thought something like this would be expensive but after doing our research and window shopping, we were pleasantly surprised to see that they are affordable. The model we like is a “middle of the road” in the price point category, but it has the features that we are looking for.
Do any of you have a generator for emergency use? If so, what kind do you have? What do you like about it or dislike about it? We would love to get some suggestions and opinions before we go ahead and buy one.
With bad weather season upon us here in the Mid-Atlantic States, I want to make sure we are ready for any weather emergencies that might happen upon us this year. Thanks & please leave your comments, suggestions and thoughts below.
