Remodeling our Kitchen – A Beautiful New Countertop

Last weekend hubby and I spent 2 days over at our new house working on our kitchen remodeling project. Hubby got all of the 1960’s kitchen cabinets, the old countertop and all of the old kitchen appliances ripped out. It took him a day and a half, but they are all finally out and on their way to the local dump.

Once he was done we headed to our local home improvement store and picked out some new oak kitchen cabinets, new kitchen appliances, a new ceiling fan, a new countertop and some countertop sealer.

I thought the new kitchen cabinets would be the toughest thing to pick out but frankly, within 15 minutes I found what I wanted and had them ordered. What took me the longest to decide upon was the new countertop. They had all kinds of countertop’s in a variety of colors, styles and made from all kinds of different materials. It took me over an hour but I finally picked out a nice granite countertop for our new kitchen.

Since we spent so much money they were nice enough to deliver all of our purchases to the house yesterday, so we are looking forward to working on step #2 of the kitchen remodeling project next week while hubby is off.

Once our kitchen is done, we will be moving on to the downstairs (aka the basement) which hubby is going to completely finish into 4 new rooms. That will include the new family room, game room with bar, laundry room and my new craft room.

Yeah! I am so excited that our home remodeling projects are well underway and moving along quickly. Are any of you planning any home remodeling projects this summer?
