Homemade Chocolate Cake Frosting Recipe

Are you looking for a quick and easy homemade chocolate frosting recipe? If so, I would love for you to try out my mom’s recipe for chocolate frosting! I love this frosting and use it often on various cakes and cupcakes that I make for my family and for the grand-wee-one’s preschool class.

Homemade Chocolate Frosting Recipe

1 stick of butter or margarine, softened
2/3 cup of powdered cocoa
3 cups of powdered sugar (confectioner’s sugar)
1/3 cup of milk
1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla extract

In a large mixing bowl, combine together the softened butter, powdered cocoa, powdered sugar and milk, using an electric mixer until the frosting is well combined and of spreading consistency. Stir in the vanilla extract, beat frosting again. Spread the frosting onto your favorite cake or cupcakes.
