As part of our big “Fun in the Summer Sun” blog event we wanted to have a few items for the kids this summer. Today’s company is called HandTrux Toys who is a brand new toy company producing American-Made toys!
The company sent us their HANDTRUX Backhoe to review for all of you. This great kid-powered toy can be used in the sand or in the dirt. It is perfect for the beach, lake or the backyard! It is made for ages 5 and up but I feel that younger kids could play with it if there is strong adult supervision.
Instructions for Use: Your child’s hand goes inside the sleeve to grab a hold of the Handraulic lever that is inside the bucket. As your child’s hand moves up and down, the bucket will move up and down too! Gotta love hand-powered toys!
The HANDTRUX Backhoe is made out of durable hard plastic but is fairly light-weight. We gave this to my 3 year old grand-wee-one who has a sandbox and loves toys that she can use in her sandbox. However, once it arrived we were getting hit with 12 straight days of rain so her sandbox was flooded and needed to spend a few weeks to dry out again.
With that said, I left her play with the HANDTRUX Backhoe indoors and after a few tries, she really got the hang of it. We placed checkers, marbles, building blocks, etc. all over the floor and she used her new HANDTRUX Backhoe to pick them up. She played for hours upon hours doing this. To keep things interesting, we just kept changing the little objects around for her to pick up using the backhoe. Fun, fun, fun!
