Greenhouse Kids – Kid’s Books

Greenhouse Kids BooksToday I would like to introduce you to the company called The Greenhouse Kids who publishes a line of children’s books by best-selling children’s author, Shelley Awad. The author sent us 4 books to review for all of you and today, we are going to tell you about them. Before I dive into the books, I would love for you to Meet the Greenhouse Kids Characters by visiting the site.

The first book is titled “Meet the Greenhouse Kids” and is geared towards children ages 3-6 years of age which is the perfect age group for my 3 year old grand-wee-one. This book has 40 pages with full color illustrations by Glen Hawkes. This book introduces young readers to the charming garden-themed characters & their flavor namesakes found in The Greenhouse Kids series of books. What I love about this book is that you do learn about the characters in a fun and loving way but the illustrations to go along with the character stories is absolutely beautiful.

This particular book is one I have been reading to my grand-wee-one for the past 10 days or so. She loves this book and has been learning all about The Greenhouse Kids characters. So far, she loves Lucinda the Ladybug, Foxy Gloves and Miss Yarrow.

The second book is titled The Greenhouse Kids, Dan Delion’s Secret which is a soft-cover book by author Shelley Awad. This is the 1st book in the Mysterious Adventure Series and is for children ages 8-12. It contains 127 pages with color and B&W illustrations sprinkled througout the book.

The third book is titled The Greenhouse Kids, Ghost Walk which is a soft-cover book by author Shelley Awad. This is the 2nd book in the Mysterious Adventure Series and continues the story from the Dan Dandelion’s Secret. It contains contains 173 pages with color and B&W illustrations sprinkled throughout the book.

The fourth book is titled The Greenhouse Kids, Dig Deep which is a soft-cover book by author Shelly Awad. This is the 3d book in the Mysterious Adventure Series and continues the story from the Ghost Walk. It contains 266 pages with color and B&W illustrations sprinkled throughout the book.

I have 2 nephews who are ages 11 and 13 who LOVE to read and they really like mystery adventure books so I knew they would love these books. Caleb who is 13 started reading the series first and he started with book one. He had it read cover-to-cover in about 4 1/2 days. He then passed it to Cameron who is 11 and he started reading it while Caleb moved on to the second book. Since this is a series of books, I wanted each boy to start with book #1.

In book #1, Dan Delion sets out to hunt for bugs and discovers a secret that is bigger than what he can handle. He decides to share his secret with the other Greenhouse Kids and then the mysterious adventure unfolds. Caleb and Cameron both loved this book so much that they were super excited to start on book #2. The second book continues on with the story and the Greenhouse Kids end up English Ivy’s haunted mansion where they must solve another mystery. Caleb LOVED this book and said it was even more fun to read than the first book. As I type this review, Cameron is mid-way through this book and Caleb has moved onto the third one. In Dip Deep, the story continues on but this type the mystery and adventure takes place on Kukagami Lake where the Greenhouse Kids must solve a mystery that includes the Ivy Tombstones.

Caleb is about 1/2 way through reading the third book so I asked him what he thought about the series so far. He told me “Aunt Shelly, will there be more books? I like these books, they are funny but have stories that are not too scary, but interesting.” He is a kid not filled with many words! LOL With that said, we hope to see more books in the series as the boys love them! Each book costs only $12.99 and would be perfect reading material for your child this summer!
