Gevalia Coffee is Perfect with a Fika Coffee Break
There is nothing like that first cup of coffee in the morning. No, scratch that. There’s nothing like that first cup of coffee when I’m awake enough to enjoy it. Be it at 10 am, 3 pm, or a cup after dinner, a smooth rich cup of coffee is like the nectar of the Gods. Most of the time I’m grabbing a cup while working on other things, but sometimes I sit back with a cup and a treat and enjoy them with no interruption. Turns out I’ve been ahead of the curve.
Have you heard – Fika is in! Fika is a Swedish social institution becoming popular in the U.S. See, the Swedes take real coffee breaks during the day. They grab a cup or two with a sweet snack and good company twice a day. They take those 15 minute breaks right! Set a place setting, grab a simple, sweet treat – a cookie, slice of coffeecake, or go all out and bake up a Swedish dessert to go with your Swedish coffee.

Gevalia Kaffee is a treat. Once only available via mail order, this delicious coffee is now as close as the local grocer. Several varieties are available in stores, including Traditional, Columbia, French Roast, Vanilla, Chocolate Mocha, Espresso Roast, and Swedish-inspired House Blend.
I received a bag of French Roast coffee to review and it was delicious. Rich, smooth coffee warmed my soul and perked up my spirits during my quick break. The double chocolate chip cookie might have helped with the post-coffee perky, but I think the coffee did more. Not just the drink and snack, but the ritual as well. It was nice to sit outside with my cuppa, watching the squirrels and bunny contemplate going after my garden. And at the time, I didn’t care. The mid-morning Fikaworked its magic. By mid-afternoon the temperature had risen a bit, so I went with an iced coffee with a splash of non-dairy creamer and a little coconut sugar. Gevalia’s French Roast was just as lovely lightened and sweetened as it was black.
