Sometimes I wish I had a private office that I could leave the house for 6-8 hours a day. My own little space full of peace, fresh flowers, a beautiful desk, comfy chair and quiet music playing through the stereo or Ipod. A place with no phones or interruptions. A place I could just sit and get my business work done quickly and efficiently…. I dream of such a place.
Then I wake up to life… a life like all other work at home moms deal with on a regular basis. We run kids back and forth countless times a day. We respond to our spouses calling for this and for that. The phone ringing, doorbells ringing. The dog wants out! Oh, now the dog wants in. The cat wants out and now the cat wants in.
Each time I leave my office to reply to any of the above, I have to climb over the dog or one of the cats because they have to lay right in my office doorway and won’t move.
*Sigh*
Yeah, working at home we get soooo much done and what a breeze it is!
We all know the truth. We get half as much done in twice the amount of time it would take anyone else, but I guess we would never trade it for any screaming, cranky old boss in a corporate suit.
This is the Truth about working your business at home. Embrace it because it will likely not change until the kids are in college. At least, that is my dream!
