Stove Top Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies Recipe

April 24, 2012 by Shelly

With the temperatures heating up outside, I try to use a lot of stovetop recipes and that includes cookie recipes. Today I am sharing with all of you a great stovetop cookie recipe so that you can make some tasty Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies.

Stove Top Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies Recipe

2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup margarine or butter

In a large saucepan combine the above 4 ingredients and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Once boiling you want to time one minute (boil for one full minute). Turn off the heat.

2 3/4 cups quick oatmeal
1/2 cup creamy or chunky peanut butter (we like creamy)
1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Stir the above ingredients into the cooked chocolate mixture until all ingredients are well combined. Drop cookie batter onto a cookie sheet using a tablespoon. Let them harden up for 1-2 hours and then place them into an airtight container for storage.

If you have any stovetop cookie recipes to share with us, I would love for you to post them in our comment form as I am always looking for new no-bake cookie recipes.

I know it sounds weird but this post & the pics brought tears to my eyes. Reason being, my grandmother use to make these for us every Christmas.Just seeing the pics of the cookies on the wax paper brought back a flood of memories of my grandmother making these cookies! When I was a teenager she showed me how to make them. And now I make them for my family & have those precious memories to look back on while doing so. Thanks for the post hun. =)
