I often talk about my one nephew here on our blog, but there is something that I have never shared with all of you and today, I am going to tell you about it. My nephew C has Autism and Tourette’s Syndrome so with great honor today, I get to introduce you to the My Pal for Autism Awareness Bear. With April being Autism Awareness Month, I would first like to share some important information with you.
Autism is a developmental disability that affects about 1 out of 150 children. The main characteristics that you will usually notice about a person with Autism are: They have difficulty with social skills (things you need to know how to do when you are with others), like looking at the person, answering, taking turns, playing together; they have a hard time communicating, especially when trying to talk about the way they feel; they have some unusual or different behaviors, like making noises or movements when you don’t expect them to. You can find a lot of information about Autism online and I would love it if you explore some of that information when you have some time.
The company that markets and sells the My Pal and My Sibling products is called LorettaRose, LLC. which is a family owned business based in New Jersey, USA. They are a for-profit company with a charitable vision, advocating for individuals with developmental disabilities.
My Review: I received the beautiful My Pal for Autism Awareness Bear for the review and let me tell you…this teddy bear is absolutely gorgeous! The plush bear is super soft and measures 11″ tall in the seated position. The bear has animal button eyes, a dark brown plush nose and an embroidered mouth. Around the bears neck is a puzzle piece ribbon bow to represent Autism Awareness.
The bear is super soft, snugly and would be appropriate for any age. One of the things I love about this bear is that it is in the seated position so if you want to display it on a chair, sofa, on top of the bed, shelf, bookcase, etc. you definitely could!
Another thing I love about this bear is that it’s plush fur is incredibly soft! I love that because as a child snuggles with it, it feels great against his/her skin. The entire bear is squishy, so it can be squeezed and hugged. Not all plush animals are snugly and huggable, but this one definitely is!
The most important thing about this bear is what it represents which is Autism Awareness. The bear comes with a booklet called “My Pal for Autism Awareness” which instructs the child about Autism and encourages them to be advocates for people who suffer with Autism. In the back of the booklet, children can write their own story or journal about Autism Awareness Activities. I think that is so cool and definitely makes this bear super special!
I would like to thank the company for sending me the product(s) to review for all of you and for sponsoring a giveaway here on the Two Classy Chics blog. I love these products and highly recommend them to others!
