My Azalea Bushes are Blooming!!!

April 6, 2012 by Shelly

I am so glad that spring is now underway and most of my flowers, bushes and trees are now blooming! yeah!!! I wasn’t too sure how my Azalea bushes would do this year since Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee really made a mess of my yard and gardens last year.

After the storms passed and we did our cleanup, I gave my Azalea bushes a good pruning. I wasn’t sure if they would come back and bloom or not, but I am happy to report that they are all in full bloom this week! yeah!!!

I love Azalea bushes and they are one of the simplier flower bushes that you can grow to give you beautiful color around your home or in your flower gardens.

Do any of you have Azalea bushes and if so, how are they doing? Are they blooming for ya yet?

Isn’t it great to have a mild winter and an early mild spring? I am really loving it! Usually I hate PA in the winter and early spring but this year it was really mild and not too much snow. I can definitely tolerate that every year!

Right now I am trying to “breed” my snake plants as I have one that is huge and has over-grown it’s big pot. I need to thin it down and try to get some new starters from it.

We have them here in out state but they don’t bloom near as pretty as yours! Lilacs on the other hand we have plenty of and they have bloomed I would say a good month ahead of schedule!

Looks awesome, most of mine are done blooming now. I need to prune some back pretty hard since they’re taller than I am now and coming close to blocking some windows. When I prune, I jab the sticks into ground in another area and have had many take root and form all new shrubs. Enjoy your blooms!
