Letter From a Stranger by Barbara Taylor Bradford Audio Book Review

As a teen and quite honestly, throughout my whole life, I had an addiction to books. I loved romances and awesome stories of strong independent women that were written about by authors with a knack of storytelling. I have read countless Barbara Taylor Bradford books throughout the years and I was thrilled to be able to review the latest one that just hit the stands.

The #1 New York Times bestselling author delivers a lush and evocative new novel of family secrets and betrayals that stretch from the streets of World War II Berlin to the winding alleys of Istanbul to present day!

Justine Nolan is a documentary filmmaker who lost her beloved grandmother a decade ago – the person who was the only source of love and comfort in her life. Her own mother, Deborah, has always been distant and uninvolved, following her own agenda in pursuit of her career as an interior designer.

But when Justine inadvertently opens a letter addressed to her mother, she discovers that not only is her grandmother, Gabriele, alive, but that Deborah has deliberately estranged the family from her for all these years. Justine’s search for her grandmother takes her to Istanbul, where she begins to uncover the family’s secrets, which stretch all the way back to World War II. As the layers of deception peel away, Justine begs to understand a woman she never really knew… and she begins to ask questions about the true desires of her own heart.

Read by the very talented Nicola Barber and including a bonus interview with the author, this audiobook program is as juicy as it is thrilling!

I love listening to the readers voice on this audiobook. She brings to life the amazing descriptions of the people and places and gives accents and amazing voices to each character in the book. The author has a wonderful way of describing places, thoughts and feelings that bring you right into the storyline. You feel like you are right there with the characters and you feel what they feel.

The story has tons of intrigue, mystery and secrets and even some romance thrown in too. I had a great time listening to it each day, I did learn that I cannot listen to this as I am trying to work because, I didn’t work! LOL The hard part is stopping until the next day. Several times I listened way past my bedtime just because I wanted to know what was coming next.

The story is brilliantly crafted and definitely a page turner! If you love a story that will envelope you and entwine you right into it, you are going to love this one. You can grab a copy at Amazon or Barnes and Noble and enjoy this great read!
