One of my friends who I grew up with lives in northern Texas and loves that part of the state. Anyway, Sharon called me earlier today to tell me that she was offered early retirement at her job and that she is going to take it. Now that she will be retiring, she will have to relocate to another home since her employer was helping to foot her housing bill.
She told me that her and Billy Bob are now looking for River Place Homes for sale because they had heard it was a very nice area for retirees. She also said that there are numerous nearby golf courses, two country clubs and three community centers that host various activities for senior citizens and she was hoping to get involved with a few of those. (trust me, Sharon needs to keep busy otherwise she would go stir crazy).
Sharon is really excited about retiring now (albeit early), but is also a little scared of this new big change in her life. She has worked a full time job for the past 40 years and is a little scared at what the future might bring. I told her that she should be happy about this opportunity, and that her and Billy Bob should go out and travel the world and do the things they always wanted to do, but never had the time to do them.
I have always wanted to visit the Austin area and I am looking forward to flying out there next month to help her pack up and get moved. I will be staying with her for about 2 weeks to help them with whatever they need me to do. The best part of this 2 week vacation for me is that I don’t have to pay a dime! Yeah! Sharon and Billy Bob are treating me to it as a way to thank me for coming out there to help them move! yeah!!!
Once I get back, I will update you all with how it went along with a few photos as it won’t be all work and no play…of course not, we will fit in some fun time too!
