My 10 year old nephew has been really struggling this year with his school work and it hasn’t gotten any better the past few months. You see, Cam is a special needs child and suffers from Epilepsy, Autism and Tourette’s Syndrome. He has a “host” of medical problems that he deals with and the school system he attends isn’t much help.
My sister-in-law has finally contacted an agency that specializes in home tutors and has one lined up to start on Wednesday. We think this special one-on-one attention will really help Cam to catch up to his fellow classmates.
He is such a smart kid and just needs a little extra help to grasp the more technical things, like math and science. He loves to sit and learn new things so this should be a ‘move’ in the right direction for his special education needs.
Have any of you ever used a home tutor for any of your children? If so, was a good experience and did you feel that it really helped your child to succeed? I would love to hear about your experience with having a home tutor service, as well as any tips or suggestions that you have for me and my family.
In a few weeks I will post an update to our blog and let you all know how it is going and what Cam thinks about having this special help with his educational homework.
